Real Madrid sign Kaka from AC Milan

Brazilian playmaker Kaka has signed for Real Madrid in a world record transfer – that is if you’re working in pounds. The reported £56Million fee that Madrid are to pay AC Milan for the 27 year old eclipses that of the £48Million paid by the same club to Juventus in 2001.

Swedish striker and Inter Milan’s top goal scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic would welcome a move to European Champions Barcelona, his agent said on Friday following reports the two clubs were discussing a deal.

Kaka to Chelsea deal ruled out

Former World player of the year and World Cup winner in 2002 Kaka will not be joining Chelsea as it had been reported earlier in the week. The AC Milan midfield was apparently the target of a £73.5Million bid from the South London club.

Owen linked with Celtic

Newcastle United striker Michael Owen is being linked with a summer move to Scottish Champions Celtic on a a pay-as-you-play deal in a bid to resurrect his faltering career. Owen is currently Newcastle’s top goal scorer with eight goals, but has been a shadow of his former self in recent years.
