Ribery wants to leave Bayern for Madrid

No sooner than Karim Benzema had joined Madrid, as reported yesterday, Franck Ribery has declared that he wants to leave Bayern Munich for, yep you guessed it, Real Madrid. So far, Madrid have spent £80 Million on Cristiano Ronaldo, £56Million on Kaka, £35 Million on Karim Benzema and around £16Million for Raúl Albiol.

Real Madrid snap up Karim Benzema

Real Madrid considered the summer spending spree by snapping up French forward Karim Benzema from Lyon – after the two clubs agreed a £35Million fee based upon appearances. The news will come as a further blow for Manchester United who were keen to sign the French forward – as a replacement for Real Madrid winger Cristiano Ronaldo.

Man City place ‘stratospheric’ bid for Etoo

Manchester City have made a bid for Cameroon striker and Barcelona forward Samuel Eto’o – which has been described by the club’s president Joan Laporta as ‘stratospheric’. If City land Eto’o he could well be linking up with Carlos Tevez – who is considering an offer from the Eastlands club.

Dzeko opens talks with Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg super striker and goal-machine Edin Dzeko is set to hold talks with the German champions regarding his future, according to Jurgen Marbach a club executive. Dzeko (26) and Grafite (28) formed a superb partnership and dominated the Bundesliga scoring charts hitting 49 goals between them.

Maldini to follow Ancelotti to Chelsea

Italian and AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini could be poised to join the backroom staff at Chelsea. Italy’s most capped player could follow former AC Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti to the 2006 Premier League Champions and become part of the back room staff – which includes former AC Milan midfielder Ray Wilkins.

Zidane confirms Ribery talks with Madrid

World Cup winner Zinedine Zidane has revealed that Real Madrid are in talks with Bayern Munich to purchase the French winger Franck Ribery. Zidane played alongside Ribery in the 2006 World Cup finals when France reached the World Cup final but lost on penalties to Italy. Zidane will be best remembered for his two headed goals against Brazil in the 1998 World Cup final – rather than his headbutt on Italian defender Marco Materazzi.

The Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness has stated that the club will only consider selling Franck Ribery if his club receive a ‘crazy’ bid for the France international midfielder. Bayern Munich, who finished runners up to Wolfsberg this season, will be looking to keep hold of their prized possession, especially with Manchester United lurking after the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo is all set for a record breaking £80Million transfer from English Champions Manchester United to Spanish runners up Real Madrid. Madrid have already signed Kaka earlier in the week for a the record breaking £56Million transfer and have again broken the transfer record with the purchase of the current World Player of the year.
