It seems that a high proportion of these players, often influential players, are based in England and play in the Premier League.

Argentina plan for life without Riquelme

World Cup winners of 1978 and 1986 Argentina had been forced to go back to the drawing board following Juan Roman Riquelme’s decision to quit the side earlier this week. World Cup legend Diego Maradona was speaking to the press regarding the talented playermakers’ decision to quit International Football.

Surprise package Lanus stay top in Argentina

Surprise team Lanus scored two goals in the space of three minutes to win 2-1 at home to Colon on Saturday and stay top of the Argentine Clausura championship. The little team from the southern suburbs of Buenos Aires took the lead in the 56th minute when Diego Valeri scored from close range after a neat one two with Diego Lagos.
