Carlos Tevez has taken a swipe at ex-manager Sir Alex Ferguson who he claimed never spoke to him after a game or made him feel wanted. World Cup Statistics reported yesterday that Carlos Tevez was Manchester City bound subject to a medical – which he completed today and took a swipe at his former gaffer.
Although Carlos Tevez was complimentary of Sir Alex Ferguson in the past – the Argentinian striker, who played for his country in the 2006 World Cup finals, took a different view point in his press conference today:
“Alex never called me or sent me any text messages,” Tevez, who signed a five-year contract, said.
“The only time he spoke to me was after the match against Roma because we had to discuss me playing for Argentina.
“I don’t think that is the way to treat a player who has been two years at the club.”
Sir Alex Ferguson had stated on Monday that he had called and text Carlos Tevez – but was left without a reply – and indicated that he knew the Argentina striker had made up his mind. Tevez joins Gareth Barry (from Aston Villa) and Roque Santa Cruz (from Blackburn Rovers) as Manchester City’s major summer signings so far – and could well be joined by Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor – as Mark Hughes confirmed the club were in talks with the Togo striker.
