Former Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez has signed for arch rivals Manchester City on a five year deal. Carlos Tevez scored 34 goals in 73 appearances for United over the course of the two year loan deal. The Argentinian forward will wear his trademark 32 shirt at Eastlands next season.
Manchester City manager Mark Hughes is over the moon with the latest arrival:
“I cannot wait to welcome him (Tevez) to City. This is yet another deal that shows the commitment of the owner Sheikh Mansour to make this club the very best it can possibly be,”
“Carlos is an international player of the highest class who possesses all the attributes that will help drive this club forward,”
“He is not only outstanding technically but he is a reliable goal scorer and someone who will contribute fully to the team ethic,”
“He gives us another exciting, attacking dimension.”
Tevez joins Gareth Barry and Roque Santa Cruz as the latest big name player to join City. Emmanuel Adebayor and Samuel Eto’o are the latest players to be linked with a move to Manchester – as City try to get their hands on some silverwear for the first time since 1976. Tevez’s arrival will no doubt disappoint United fans who sung their hearts out for the Argentinian forward when he was out of favour at Old Trafford.
