Former World player of the year and World Cup winner in 2002 Kaka will not be joining Chelsea as it had been reported earlier in the week. The AC Milan midfield was apparently the target of a £73.5Million bid from the South London club.
Kaka, who finished the 2008/09 campaign as leading goal scorer for the Rossoneri with 16 goals, could have joined Manchester City in the January transfer window – but opted to stay with the seven time European Cup winners. Real Madrid are apparent favourite to sign the brilliant Brazilian – in a deal that would surpass that over Zinedine Zidane back in 2001.
Kaka signed for AC Milan from Sao Paulo in 2003 for €8.5 million and was an instant hit. The Brazilian put in some mesmerizing performances in his time in Serie A and reached two Champions League finals in his time – winning one and losing the other – both against Liverpool. It looks like his time in Italy is coming to an end – with Madrid being the most likely destination.
