AC Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti revealed on Friday that the seven time European Champions would consider selling the former World Player of the year – if the player put in a transfer request.
Ronaldinho, who has scored eight goals so far this season, hasn’t met the recent high standards of when he was a Barcelona player – where many considered him to be the best player in the world from 2004 to 2006. Many believe the Brazilian lost his way towards the end of his Barcelona days and his move to Milan was suppose to rekindle his previous brilliant form. On his day Ronaldinho was unplayable – operating a free role from the left hand side, he would inspire his side with a piece of genius, either through a piece of skill or a defense splitting pass.
The AC Milan manager said of Ronaldinho “Our desire is to keep Ronaldinho. If then there’s an expressed request from him to go it will be considered.” Ronaldinho played in the 2002 and 2006 World Cup finals – winning the tournament in 2002 and scoring a superb freekick against England along the way. Ronaldinho was linked to Manchester City last summer and Manchester could well be his next destination.
