AC Milan head coach Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out the possibility of managing Chelsea next season after watching his side beat Chievo 1-0 in the Serie A run in. Reports had linked the 49 year old to a move to the Premier League next season – with Chelsea being the ideal destination.

Internazionale boss Jose Mourinho has stated that whatever decision Brazilian forward Adriano makes regarding his career, he hopes that he is happy. Adriano played in the 2006 World Cup finals for Brazil – who were eventually eliminated by an inspired Zinedine Zidane France.

Grant: ‘Torres could have joined Chelsea’

Former Chelsea boss Avram Grant has admitted that Spanish striker Fernando Torres was a target for Chelsea when he was in charge at the Bridge last season. Fernando Torres is widely seen as the best striker of his generation and scored in the 3-1 defeat against Chelsea on Wednesday.

Internazionale sealed a dramatic win after an own goal by Udinese’s Mauricio Isla. Inter won the game 1-0 and now lead Juventus by nine points after the old lady squandered two points by drawing 3-3 with Chievo, with Pellissier netting a hattrick.

Premier League Round up – 05/04/09

Manchester United grabbed a 92nd minute winner against Aston Villa to go top of the Premier League after Liverpool’s late show against Fulham on Saturday. Youngster Federico Macheda scored a superb goal right at the death as United bounced back from two straight defeats. Chelsea and Arsenal both won whilst Bolton knocked four past Middlesbrough.

Benzema brace puts Lyon three clear
