Surprise package Lanus stay top in Argentina

Surprise team Lanus scored two goals in the space of three minutes to win 2-1 at home to Colon on Saturday and stay top of the Argentine Clausura championship. The little team from the southern suburbs of Buenos Aires took the lead in the 56th minute when Diego Valeri scored from close range after a neat one two with Diego Lagos.

Only two minutes later Cristian Menendez went around the goalkeeper Diego Pozo to score the second goal for Lanus. Colon got a goal back through German Rivarola who headed one back in the 73rd minute after a mistake by Carlos Bossio- the Lanus goalkeeper. The visitors had Alejandro Capurro sent off nine minutes later as they lost for the first time this season.
