Klose to miss German qualifiers

Bayern Munich striker Miroslav Klose will almost miss Germany‘s next two World Cup qualifiers after injuring his right ankle playing for the Bundesliga Champions. The German striker will need at least two weeks to recover from the injury he suffered against VfL Bochum during Saturday’s league win. The story broke on Bayern Munich’s website.

Jurgen Klinsmann, winner of the World Cup in 1990 with West Germany, was quoted as saying “This is a bitter diagnosis and, of course, a major setback”. Klinsmann was also concerned that his injury list is getting longer and longer – “This is a very difficult situation now. I have a good feeling that Toni may be fit for the next match.” Bayern have striker Luca Toni, playmaker Franck Ribery and midfielders Tim Borowski and Hamit Altintop on their injury list, whilst US striker Landon Donovan was not offered a contract and returned home last week.
