Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand has been passed fit for the Wednesday Champions League clash with Internazionale at Old Trafford.
Ferdinand had picked up an ankle injury in the 4-0 victory over Fulham in the FA Cup on Saturday and had been a major doubt for the game tomorrow night. John O’shea also limped out of the game midway through the second half – leaving Manchester United very short at the back.
The game is tied at 0-0 after an entertaining first leg at the San Siro two weeks ago. Manchester United missed a whole host of chances and Sir Alex Ferguson will be hoping that these will not come back to haunt his side – who are targeting a record five trophies. Inter Milan are also missing two defenders – Marco Materazzi and Nicolas Burdisso – who picked up injuries in the 2-0 victory over Genoa last Saturday.
