World Cup winners of 1978 and 1986 Argentina had been forced to go back to the drawing board following Juan Roman Riquelme’s decision to quit the side earlier this week. World Cup legend Diego Maradona was speaking to the press regarding the talented playermakers’ decision to quit International Football.
It is clear to see how much Riquelme was in the managers plans with his recent comments about the way in which Argentina will go about their business. “We had to change everything after losing Riquelme,” said Maradona. Maradona stated that all his tactical plans had to be reassessed after the enigmatic playmaker who was upset at comments the manager made about his playing style, said on Tuesday the two could not work together.
