The second world cup finals was hosted by Italy, who would eventually go on to win the competition. The finals ran from May 27th to June 10th and consisted of 16 nations competing for the Jules Rimet trophy. A total of 90 goals were scored over the course of the 17 games played, which consisted of 4.12 goals per game.
